Rincon de la Victoria launches 7th photography contest

RINCON DE LA VICTORIA is launching the 7th edition of the “Tourism in Rincon” Photography Contest, aiming to show off the beauty of the municipality through photos depicting its natural, cultural, and gastronomic features. The contest, which has become an established and exciting part of the year for amateur and professional photographers in the area, is a way for residents to showcase the municipality through their eyes and display its unique beauty for newcomers.

Rincon’s photographers, at the ready

Having kicked off on Tuesday, October 7, photographers and admirers of Rincon de la Victoria are already scrambling to snap photos of their favourite spots in the municipality. The twelve best photos will be featured in the official 2026 tourist calendar, presented at the next edition of Spain’s most important tourism event, the International Tourism Fair, or FITUR.

“The competition has become a key tool for promoting our municipality,” said mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado. “Each image captures not only the beauty of our landscapes, beaches, and heritage, but also the spirit of our land and traditions. It’s a way to involve citizens in the tourist promotion of Rincón de la Victoria and project our identity in national and international forums such as FITUR.”

Suggested themes for the photos include the town’s natural landscapes, historical and cultural heritage sites, festivals and traditional events, local gastronomy, sports and leisure areas and events, and daily life photographs. Anything goes when it comes to showcasing Rincon de la Victoria’s powerful charm.

The prizes for the winners of the contest include official merchandise from the Rincon de la Victoria Town Council, dinner for two at a local restaurant, and tickets to the town’s main tourist attractions: Cueva del Tesoro, Cueva de la Victoria, and Villa Antiopa.

The rules for the contest are few: all participants must be over the age of 18. Photos must be landscape, or horizontal, must be in JPG format, and must be 1920×1080 pixels in size. Apart from these rules, entries are unlimited, so locals and visitors are encouraged to go out and snap photos of their favourite places in the municipality.

The Photography Contest, a fun way to promote Rincon de la Victoria

Previous editions of the contest have been a booming success for the municipality: the 6th edition saw a record-breaking 422 photographs submitted. Since its founding, the photography contest has been an essential and ingenious way for the promotion of the municipality for tourists, in a method that is fun for residents to participate in.

“Each year we receive hundreds of photographs capturing both the most iconic and the most hidden corners of our municipality. This contest helps us position Rincon de la Victoria as an attractive tourist destination 365 days a year, strengthening our presence on the Costa del Sol and Axarquía tourism map,” said Councillor for tourism, Antonio José Martín. “Each photograph is an opportunity to show the world why Rincon de la Victoria is a special place, with a unique heritage, exceptional beaches, and an enviable quality of life.”

The submission period for the contest will remain open until Halloween night, October 31. Images must be sent by email to turismo@turismoenrincon.es, with the subject line “VII Concurso Fotografía Turismo en Rincón,” along with the photographer’s name.
