Rahul Gupta, Co-founder of Nexiva, describes AI as a “digital co-traveller.” He says, “It’s like travelling with someone who can translate a menu, sense if a neighbourhood isn’t safe, or find you a hidden café nearby. The real promise of AI in travel isn’t replacing spontaneity. It’s protecting and amplifying it.” Meanwhile, Rikant Pittie, CEO and Co-founder of EaseMyTrip, believes the next phase of travel will feature “AI-enabled guides that understand a traveller’s preferences, optimise itineraries in real time, and even suggest safer routes.” He notes that AI-driven personalisation in travel is expected to reach $13.38 billion by 2030, signalling how deeply machine learning is shaping the travel experience. Safety innovations are also evolving through biometric identity systems like DigiYatra, which streamline airport security with contactless verification – reducing risks of theft or misplaced documents while enhancing solo travel confidence. Connected, Confident, And In Control Beyond planning and protection, AI is redefining connectivity itself. Rahul Mehra, Co-founder of Roadcast, highlights the role of smart tracking and IoT. “Intelligent connectivity will define the future of mobility. Smart alerts and tracking devices not only keep travelers connected but also protect them, so they can focus on discovery rather than fear,” he says. This convergence of AI, data, and design means solo travellers can now navigate foreign lands, manage unexpected changes, and immerse themselves in new cultures with unprecedented freedom and reassurance. The age of AI-powered travel isn’t about replacing human instinct. It’s about refining it.
