A National Assembly member representing Doma, Keana, Awe Federal Constituency, Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba, at the weekend, has spent N100 Million worth of scholarship awards to one thousand (1,000) students across 13 LGAs of Nasarawa State.
During the symbolic presentation of the cheques to beneficiaries in Lafia, Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba said that the gesture was to support the education of the beneficiaries.
He said that before the symbolic presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries, they had already received N100,000 each, which makes the total disbursement N100 Million.
“We decided to assist the children of the unprivileged members of society.”
Honourable Hassan Nalaraba emphasized that the foundation will sustain the gesture and other empowerment programmes to lessen the burden of underprivileged people in the state.
In his remarks, the Aren Eggon Ahmed Ubangari commended the lawmaker for the gesture and charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money meant for its purpose.
In a sideline interview with the beneficiaries, Abimiku Salvation David, Sufyanu Bushrat Mamman, Joseph Aura, and Abubakar Mohammed all expressed joy over the awards, noting that the gesture will go a long way in supporting their educational pursuit.
