Report: UNC will no longer have season-long documentary on Hulu

Fans won’t get a behind-the-scenes look at UNC’s first season under Bill Belichick after all.
The Tar Heels’ season-long documentary on Hulu will no longer happen, sources confirmed to Inside Carolina.
The documentary, which was going to showcase UNC’s season with Belichick at the helm for his first year as a college coach, was announced in August.
It’s unclear why it’s no longer happening.
“It’s gonna feature the players working hard, which you guys do. It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do,” Belichick said in the video posted by UNC. And a program starting from where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s gonna do during the course of the season, which, of course, we determine on the field. It’ll show our commitment to winning, it’ll show our commitment to the team, and that’s our priority.”
UNC was originally going to be featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” but that fell apart reportedly due to Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, wanting to be involved heavily in the project.
Belichick denied that claim, noting “Hard Knocks” didn’t fit his collegiate program.
Things have not been going well for Belichick in his first year as a college coach. UNC is 2-3, and each of its losses have been blowouts.
There was optimism Belichick was going to help turn the football program around given how much success he had in the NFL for several decades. But it hasn’t translated to the college level.
“It’s an unstructured mess,” a source with first-hand knowledge of the program told WRAL. “There’s no culture, no organization. It’s a complete disaster.”
A parent of a current UNC player told the outlet that they don’t fault the players, rather “the leadership that created this toxic environment.”
UNC was also reportedly directed by Belichick to not post anything Patriots-related on social media. Hours after that report surfaced, the school’s X account posted highlights of Tar Heels alum Drake Maye during the Patriots’ Sunday night win over the Buffalo Bills.
