The Miami Dolphins have fallen to 0-2 on the year, and there is a strong chance the team might fall to 0-3 after “Thursday Night Football” against the Buffalo Bills.More news: Jon Gruden Offers Bold Way Dolphins Can Snap Losing Skid Against BillsThe matchups between the Dolphins and Bills have not been too kind to the South Beach team, apart from their second meeting in 2024, which nearly led to a narrow victory for the Dolphins. There is hope for the Dolphins, but a 0-3 start to the season has led many to believe that head coach Mike McDaniel’s job would be in trouble. It would not be difficult to understand McDaniel being relieved of his duties, simply because this Dolphins team has been devoid of huge playmaking ability since the 2023 season. However, letting him go this early might also be a bit too soon. Now, it appears that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has already made up his mind on McDaniel, at least for now.According to Ian Rapoport, Ross has now intention of firing McDaniel, even with the Dolphins’ slow start to the season.”[Stephen Ross] does not want to fire Mike McDaniel, he doesn’t. He wants this to work – he likes him, he believes in him, he has invested in him, including a contract extension last year … whenever he has had to, he has been patient … my sense is nothing is imminent for the Dolphins on that front,” Rapoport said.More news: Chiefs Get Huge Xavier Worthy Injury Update Before Facing GiantsRapoport also indicated that things could rapidly change if fans stop showing up to games or if players stop playing for McDaniel, then the Dolphins owner would have no choice. So far, neither of these things has proven to be true. Even at a 0-3 record, those two things would likely not happen. The Dolphins might have to lose several more games in a row for things to unfold in that manner, but that is also not that likely.Miami showed a lot more fight in Week 2 against the New England Patriots, and they nearly walked away with a victory. However, more mental errors led to the second consecutive loss. The Dolphins may not start their wins against a very strong Bills squad, but they are not likely to keep losing games. This team can and will get better, and McDaniel’s job will also remain safe while they figure things out.The Dolphins have the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers upcoming, and both of those could also serve as the team’s first win, unless they shock the NFL and take down the Bills in prime time. For more on the Dolphins and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
