There was strong nationwide demand at O’Donnellan & Joyce’s national livestream property auction on Friday, October 24, which generated over €1.8 million in sales and saw intense competition for a diverse mix of residential, commercial, and former community buildings. The standout result came in Donegal, where the former HSE-owned property at Lisfannon Industrial Estate, Buncrana sold for an impressive €475,000 following ferocious bidding from 21 registered participants. The detached industrial facility, which previously operated as a local cheese production centre, drew widespread attention from buyers across Ireland and overseas, underscoring the continuing appeal of well-located commercial assets with redevelopment potential. Auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan described the atmosphere as electric: “The level of interest in the Buncrana property was extraordinary," he said. "We had bidders from every corner of the country and beyond competing online. It’s a perfect example of the strong appetite for opportunity and renewal that’s defining the market right now.” Elsewhere, there were strong results for several former community buildings and private residences: ? Woodhill Lodge, Dromore West, Co Sligo – sold €120,000. ? Carrigans Health Centre, Ballinfull, Co Sligo – sold €120,000. ? Greaghrahan, Ballyconnell, Co Cavan – sold €365,000. ? Shannonbridge Health Centre, Co Offaly – sold €220,000. ? 30 Hazel Court, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo – sold €215,000. ? 4 Demesne, Lisbrack Road, Longford – sold €230,000. O’Donnellan said the results highlight a renewed confidence among buyers and a growing recognition of value in regional markets. “What’s clear is that people are looking beyond the cities," he continued. "They see opportunity in strong regional towns, whether for residential use, commercial activity, or redevelopment. The appetite is there, and our live-stream platform means they can compete in real time from anywhere.” The October event follows O’Donnellan & Joyce’s September auction, which generated over €4 million in sales and confirmed the company’s position as one of Ireland’s leading national auction houses. The firm’s next national live stream auction will take place on Friday December 5, with full results and upcoming listings available at www.odj.ie or by contacting O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers at 091 564 212.
