Receipt Purchase App “ONE” Secures Funding from Giftee and Dawn Capital to Accelerate Expansion of Receipt Business

On the 11th, WED, which offers marketing services utilizing receipt data, announced it has secured funding from Giftee and Dawn Capital. While the amount remains undisclosed, the funds will be allocated to product development and strengthening the sales infrastructure to accelerate the growth of its core receipt business.

WED operates a data solution through the receipt purchase app “ONE“, collecting purchasing data from consumers and providing it to companies for marketing and product development. Since the launch of the service in 2018, it has surpassed 6 million downloads and purchased over 1 billion receipts.

Users can send photos of receipts to receive a purchase price of at least 1 yen, with some cases offering cashback of several tens to hundreds of yen. Users can also benefit from “ONE Mall,” which provides cashback for online shopping.

The company analyzes receipt information collected through its proprietary OCR technology, offering cross-distribution purchasing data to companies. It supports a wide range of marketing activities, including sales promotion and distribution support for consumer goods manufacturers, customer analysis, competitive analysis, and strategy planning using receipt purchase data. The company is also expanding its data utilization to support local government initiatives aimed at revitalizing regional economies and promoting tourism.

With this funding round, WED plans to deepen its collaboration with Giftee, which operates an e-gift platform. By combining Giftee’s corporate and municipal network with WED’s purchasing data, they aim to jointly develop advanced marketing strategies directly linked to results and new services that enhance consumer purchasing experiences.

The funds will be used for product feature expansion, UI/UX improvements, enhancement of data solutions, and strengthening recruitment, particularly for engineering and sales positions. WED is committed to exploring further utilization areas for receipt data, under the vision of creating “a world where spending money is exciting.”

Founded in 2016, the company underwent a leadership change in 2024. Under the new management, it aims to stabilize business cash flow and, with this funding, steer towards the next stage of growth.
