Georgy Dillon, women’s fitness expert and personal trainer, joins me on this week’s episode of The Real Health podcast. Georgy made the point that the perception of weights for women has changed a lot in recent years. She says, “I think previously older generations would see weight training as bulking or that it would result in massive muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger has. When we are trying to focus more on longevity and strength. So, it's for lifting kids, living longer, for better bone health and just general overall health rather than the aesthetic side of things.” The personal trainer explained that many women don’t have time to work out. She says, “I first ask, where can we begin? Let's begin with five minutes and then break it down. Because if you say to me, I want you to learn Spanish, you won’t suddenly be fluent tomorrow, so you have to break it down and do five minutes one day and then you will create the habit.” You can listen to the full episode below or wherever you get your podcasts.
