In a daring incident, a realtor A. Michael of Madurai, was kidnapped in his own car and robbed of cash and mobile phone by four youths near Tiruchuli in Virudhunagar district on Saturday.

However, the accused, identified as Lakshmanan, 25, Veerasooran, 27, Vimal, 20, and a minor boy, had left him after sometime.

The police said that Michael of Kadachanendal, who was involved in real-estate business, had gone to see his land near Kurunthankulam.

The youths who had come in motorbikes picked quarrel with him and later attacked him and bundled him in his car and took him away.

The accused then robbed ₹25,000 and his mobile phone. Later, they left him with his car and fled the scene.

Based on a complaint lodged by Michael, the police arrested the accused and sent them to judicial custody.

Further investigation is underway.
