Ravens Star Set to Miss Second Straight Game

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to right the ship in their Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns. But that could prove difficult to do without one of their more reliable and dynamic pass catchers, who is set to miss his second straight game to start the 2025 season.Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely is coming off the best statistical season of his young career in 2024. But thus far, a foot injury has hindered Likely from capitalizing on all of the momentum the 2024 season brought him.Likely missed the team’s Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. And now, according to reports that emerged from Ravens practice on Friday, he is set to miss his second straight game as he rounds back into form after the foot injury.According to ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley, Likely had his most extensive workout to date on Friday, coming off of his injury, doing a number of individual workouts. However, a more realistic return date for Likely could be Week 3 or Week 4, as he is set to miss the team’s Week 2 game.NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport largely confirmed this report, suggesting that Week 3 could be the target return date for Likely. And without Likely being able to play, more pressure will be on other options to step up in the Ravens’ passing attack. This will especially be the case considering how confident Browns defenders are in their ability to stop star running back Derrick Henry. Notably, Browns safety Grant Delpit shared some pregame trash talk to reporters on Thursday, claiming that Henry “wasn’t hard” to tackle.More news: Browns Safety Throws dig at Ravens’ Derrick Henry Ahead of Week 2 GameOnly time will tell whether the Browns’ defense is able to back up Delft’s bold trash talk. But on paper, someone like Likely certainly would have been able to take some of the pressure off of Henry and the Ravens’ rushing attack.
