It’s good to be king for Derrick Henry, as the Baltimore Ravens star continues to make history with each rushing yard and touchdown. On Sunday, Henry needed to bring his powerful ground game once again, as the team was without star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Henry and the Ravens hosted Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears in their Week 8 matchup, which appeared to be an easy win for the Bears. However, in the first half, Williams was unable to find receivers in the end zone or on crucial plays in scoring territory. The Ravens’ defense held Chicago to two field goals, and then Henry was able to power his way into the endzone for another touchdown on the season, and in his legendary career. That score achieved some significant history in the record books, too. Four players are still above him: Adrian Peterson, Marcus Allen, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Emmitt Smith. Based on ESPN’s list, Peterson is well within reach for Henry this season, as the Ravens star would need nine more rushing touchdowns to tie him, and 10 to surpass him for fourth all-time. Baltimore was looking for a crucial victory as they await the return of Lamar Jackson this season. At this point, the team is well below where most fans and analysts expected them to be for the 2025-26 NFL season. So far, Baltimore’s sole victory occurred on Sep. 14, in a 41-17 blowout of the Cleveland Browns. While Henry will likely be remembered as one of the NFL’s all-time greats, he also continues to pursue that elusive Super Bowl ring. The Ravens previously seemed like a contender, but they will need to do everything possible to return to form and pile up wins before the season ends.
