Sarkodie has confirmed that his Rapperholic concert will not be a one-off in Kumasi, assuring fans that the Ashanti Region can expect future editions after the massive success of the Homecoming show.
In an interview on Opemsuo Radio’s Oseikrom Kwanso with Mac De President, the rapper revealed that the turnout at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and the overwhelming support from Asanteman had left him with “no choice” but to bring the concert back.
He admitted that the event came with heavy logistics, as artistes, equipment, and crew had to be flown in from Accra, unlike shows in the capital where most resources are already available. Still, he described the Kumasi edition as a golden opportunity that must be sustained.
“It has to {stay}. I have no choice. Given what has happened, if I leave it, then it’s my own problem. I can’t say I won’t come back again, but I have to be honest about what needs to go into it before it’s done. You know, it’s a lot.”
According to Sarkodie, the scale of attendance, the boost to the local economy, and the unmatched energy from fans prove that Kumasi deserves to host such major events regularly.
He stressed that whether through government support or private investment, the city must be equipped with venues and facilities that can match its growing appetite for entertainment.
When asked about the timing for the next edition, Sarkodie said the people of Kumasi themselves would help decide, with his fanbase suggesting Easter as a possible slot.
