Rane (Madras) rides past US tariff worries; Q2 profit up 33%

The new tariff situation in the US has not impacted sales for Rane (Madras) Ltd in the second quarter, but the company faced lower offtake in certain export customer programmes for light metal casting products, it said on Tuesday. In a release announcing the September quarter results, Rane said that it continues to monitor the evolving tariff situation and is hopeful that the ongoing diplomatic dialogues will provide necessary clarity and stability on the policy. Profit, revenue climb Net profit for the company in Q2 FY26 reported a 33 per cent increase in net profit to ₹22 crore in Q2FY26 as against ₹16 crore in Q2 FY25. Total revenue was up by 9 per cent to ₹923 crore for Q2 FY26 compared to ₹852 crore in Q2 FY25, a release said. Sales to domestic original equipment customers grew by 6 per cent, mainly due to higher offtake in the passenger vehicle and farm tractor segment. Sales to International customers increased by 10 per cent, supported by a strong offtake of steering products. Aftermarket momentum Sales to Indian aftermarket customers grew by 17 per cent. Sales of aftermarket products were not comparable to Q2 FY25 due to the restructuring of the Group’s Aftermarket Product Business. The company’s share price on the NSE closed at ₹853, up by ₹31.70.
