Rams Receive Important Update on Star WR Davante Adams

Rams Receive Important Update on Star WR Davante Adams

After some uncertainty throughout the week, Davante Adams is cleared to play on Sunday as his Los Angeles Rams take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Rams WR2 was surprisingly added to the midweek injury report with a hamstring ailment and didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
Adams did practice as a limited participant on Friday, and though he may not be at 100 percent, he is expected to play on Sunday without any major restrictions placed on his game.
Adams has been a great addition to the Rams offense this year after they lost Cooper Kupp in the offseason. Playing second fiddle to Puka Nacua, Adams has been a reliable target for Matthew Stafford through three weeks, as he’s reeled in 13 catches for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Adams Set To Go With No “Major Restrictions”
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Adams looked comfortable at the Rams Friday practice, and that he should be as close to a full-go as he can be.
LA is expected to be “smart” with Adams, which could imply that he may not have as many targets as he has in the first three weeks. He’s been targeted 29 times so far.
Adams hamstring injury can’t be more than a small strain, otherwise there’s no chance he’d be taking the field this week. The most likely case is that he felt a small amount of pain and the Rams looked at him and decided to exercise caution throughout the week. Adams is 32-years-old after all and in his 12th NFL season. With how well he’s been playing, there was no reason to push him in practice this week.
Rams-Colts Part of a Strong 4 O’Clock Window
Along with the Rams-Colts game, the week four late afternoon window feature two other must-see games as the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Baltimore Ravens while the 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars will travel to San Francisco to take on the 3-0 49ers.
LA is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in week three, as they attempted a last second field goal for the win that was blocked and returned for a touchdown. Before that, the Rams had strong wins in weeks one and two against the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.
Meanwhile, the Colts enter week four as the Cinderella story of the NFL. A team that no one had high expectations for has delivered one of the most efficient offenses in the league through three weeks as they’ve gotten off to a 3-0 start. Daniel Jones is having a resurgent year in Indianapolis and has his team firing on all cylinders, giving the Rams a tough matchup on defense.
LA is favored by three and a half points, but as the home team which typically gets three points on the spread, this is effectively a pick ’em game.
It should be an absolute thriller, especially if Davante Adams is at full strength on the outside. Kickoff is slated for 4:05 p.m. EDT and 1:05 PDT.
