During Week 6, he suffered an ankle injury when he came down hard on his leg in the endzone. Despite returning to the game, he was then ruled out for the next two. The hope was that Nacua did not suffer anything that would place him on IR, and that appears to be the case. Per Rams head coach Sean McVay, the star receiver is expected to play in Week 9. He secured 616 yards and two touchdowns through the first six games before suffering an ankle sprain. The good news is the Rams have not missed a beat in Nacua’s absence. The team is 5-2 and remains at the top of the NFC West conversation. With their bye week happening in Week 8, Nacua will get one more week of rest before the team takes on the New Orleans Saints in Week 9. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has developed a great relationship with Davante Adams, who currently has 431 yards and six touchdowns. Once Nacua returns, the pair will make a very dangerous wide receiver tandem. The Rams might also look into picking up another wide receiver ahead of the November 4 trade deadline. No other pass catcher has emerged as a viable weapon for Stafford and the offense. In third total receiving yards is running back Kyren Williams, who has 166 and three touchdowns. While he is a dual-threat running back, the team needs another potential weapon for Stafford. For more on the Rams, head to Newsweek Sports.
