Ralph Lauren lights up Mumbai ahead of Diwali with a sumptuous sit-down dinner

American designer Ralph Lauren has crafted a seductive universe that goes far beyond the preppy style it’s best known for. Timeless and effortlessly cool, the label continues to remain under the watchful eye of its 85-year-old founder, and might we add, it’s thriving. He’s made “preppy” one of the biggest trends that keeps coming back, turning rowing blazers and shoulder-draped sweaters into this aspirational uniform.
While many luxury houses are going through a period of flux currently, Ralph Lauren is riding high. Shares are up by 35 percent in 2025 and quarterly revenues of $1.7 billion, with Asia fueling much of that growth, as The Financial Times noted.
Mumbai recently got a glimpse of this universe of Ralph Lauren when the 58-year-old brand, fresh off the buzz of its 2026 New York Fashion Week showcase, hosted an intimate dinner to toast the Diwali season. At The Nilaya Anthology, Ralph Lauren’s team, Emanuela Ferrero Ventimiglia (Vice President of Brand Communications for EMEA and LATAM) and Alessandra Scifo (Head of PR for EMEA), invited some of Mumbai’s most stylish citizens.
The guest list included tastemakers, actors, business leaders and creatives such as Aryaman Birla, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Mira Rajput Kapoor, Mozez Singh, Shanaya Kapoor, and Sara Tendulkar, sipping cocktails to live music before settling into a warmly lit dinner.
In India, Ralph Lauren has an established presence in Delhi and Mumbai, plus shelf space at The Collective boutiques. This dinner doubled as a celebration and a soft power play, positioning the brand not just as a luxury import, but as a player invested in India’s cultural calendar and rhythm.
