Rajeev Kumar Mishra has joined as Director (Way & Works), Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. on 01/10/2025. He is an IRSE officer of 1992 Batch. Prior to joining KRCL, he was the Chief Track Engineer of Central Railway. He has studied B.E.(Civil) at IIT Roorkee, M.Tech (Building Science & Construction Management) at IIT Delhi, Masters in Financial Management (MFM) at JBIMS, Mumbai and LLB at Mumbai University. He has also undergone training at various institutes of national and international repute, including that at the Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune, the erstwhile Railway Staff College, Vadodara, INSEAD, Singapore, ICLIFF, Kualalumpur, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and IIT Bombay. He brings with him more than 31 years of rich and varied experience in the construction, maintenance, renewal and upgradation of railway infrastructure including Project Management, Budget control, Manpower planning, Inventory management and Works Planning & Execution including those in the most challenging Mumbai Suburban Section, the Bhor (Khandala) and the Thal (Kasara) Ghats and several large sized New Line and Doubling Projects. Major assignments handled by him include- Pune-Miraj Doubling project, Panvel-Karjat, Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath and Lonand-Phaltan New line projects, DPRs of several projects, Station Development and Land Management on Central Railway, Re-girdering of 180 feet high Ehegaon Viaduct in the Kasara Ghat, Introduction of 15 car rakes and dismantling of Hancock and ‘Patri Pul’ Bridges in the Mumbai Suburban Section; Maintenance, Renewal and Upgradation of Tracks, on the Mumbai Suburban Section with many firsts- Long Welded Rails, Deep Screening by BCM, Segmental Box Construction of Bridges, Muck Special, RCC Boundary Wall, etc. and on the entire Central Railway network, consisting of 9348 kms of Tracks and 9752 nos. of Turnouts; and introduction of Railway shuttle services from Aman Lodge to Matheran. He got the coveted General Manager Award- twice, once in the year 2009 & thereafter, in the year 2016. He also got the General Manager’s Best Construction Unit Award as Head of the Unit- twice, and several other individual and group awards, including the Track Modernization Shield as the Head of the Engineering Department of Mumbai Division of Central Railway. Earlier, he got the Silver Medal and Thomason Prize for standing second in the Bachelor of Engineering Class.
