Railways plays Chhath songs at stations to welcome festival travellers

ANIChhath trains Ahead of the Chhath festival, the railways has started playing devotional songs at 30 major stations across Bihar to create a festive atmosphere for passengers. Stations including Patna, Danapur, Hajipur, and Bhagalpur are decorated and equipped to help travellers feel connected to the occasion.According to East Central Railway’s chief public relations officer, Saraswati Chandra, station premises have been decorated, and holding areas at Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Danapur, Sonepur, Samastipur, and Darbhanga have been upgraded. Passenger-friendly facilities have also been introduced to manage the high influx of travellers.Holding areas upgradedAbhinav Siddarth, senior divisional commercial manager (Senior DCM) of Danapur, said, “Enhanced passenger holding areas have been made at key railway stations to ensure smoother crowd management during the festive surge.” Patna Junction can now accommodate up to 7,500 passengers, Rajendra Nagar Terminal 1,200, and Danapur 4,500, starting Saturday.Chhath special trains to ease travelTo handle the heavy passenger traffic, Siddarth added that 6,181 special trains are currently running, with another 900 scheduled over the next three days.
