The Las Vegas Raiders are starting to enter must-win territory. At 1-3, they can quickly fall out of the AFC playoff race completely.
The Raiders travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts in Week 5, which will be a difficult matchup. Ahead of the game, Las Vegas announced a couple of roster transactions.
Notably, they have signed Alex Bachman from the practice squad to the active roster. The Raiders did the same thing with the veteran wide receiver last year, but he was eventually waived and then added back to the practice squad. The team has been getting inconsistent play from their wide receiver, so perhaps Bachman can carve out a role.
He’s been trying to stick on an active roster throughout his whole career. He’ll be highly motivated to make plays. Bachman has played in two games for the Raiders this season.
In order to make room for Bachman on the active roster, the team had to place linebacker Brennan Jackson. He’s been dealing with a foot injury and clearly hasn’t been able to recover. He’ll be out for at least four weeks. It doesn’t appear that this is a season-ending injury for Jackson. He has made three combined tackles in three games for the Raiders this season.
Brock Bowers Expected to Play
On Thursday, the Raiders‘ injury report revealed that star tight end Brock Bowers did not participate in practice. He was also sidelined for Friday’s practice.
However, head coach Pete Carroll revealed during his Friday press conference that the plan is for Bowers to play in Week 5. The reason he hasn’t been practicing is that the Raiders wanted to give him some extra rest to recover from the knee injury he suffered in Week 1.
