The Raichur City Corporation has been selected for the State-level Best Performance Award under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) for its outstanding implementation of livelihood and self-help group initiatives. In a communication issued by the Director of the National Livelihoods Mission, Raichur City Corporation Commissioner Jubin Mohapatra was congratulated on behalf of select self-help groups. After assessing the performance of self-help groups across various districts of the State, the Akkamahadevi Self-Help Group, functioning under the jurisdiction of Raichur City Corporation, was ranked third in Karnataka. Shivamogga district secured the first place, while the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) bagged the second position. Expressing his delight, Mr. Mohapatra said that the award is a testimony to the city’s rapid progress and the corporation’s sustained support to self-help group activities. “This recognition reflects the encouragement, guidance and continuous support extended by the city corporation to self-help groups. I hope the efforts of the Akkamahadevi Self-Help Group will inspire other SHGs across the State,” he said.
