Racist graffiti found at high school in West Hartford

Police are investigating after racist graffiti was found at a private high school in West Hartford over the weekend.
The incident occurred Sunday involving someone who was allegedly trespassing at Northwest Catholic High School, according to Michael J. Clark, president of the school.
Clark said school property was destroyed at an outdoor athletic complex and graffiti was found which reportedly included a “racially incendiary” message.
“It is inhumane,” Clark said in a statement. “We are not dealing with a group of individuals who just knocked over trash cans. What is ugliest here is the intent to hurt our young people, in an environment where they should always feel safe.”
The West Hartford Police Department is investigating.
“We appreciate their prompt response and active efforts in this ongoing investigation,” Clark said.
