Quarterback controversy? The 49ers' quarterback situation is simple

The San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback situation is simple. The organization needs to go with the player who puts their team in the best position to win.
Mac Jones puts them in the best position to win over Brock Purdy because Purdy is not completely healthy as he recovers from a turf toe injury he reaggravated in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. When Purdy is completely healthy and not a hindrance to the team’s success, then he is the starting quarterback for the organization.
Jones addressed his status with the team after their win against the Los Angeles Rams on “Thursday Night Football.” They brought him in as a backup for this team.
There is no quarterback controversy. Purdy is their guy and Jones is the backup. The 49ers have depth at the most important position in all of professional sports, and Jones playing well is a win-win scenario for the 49ers.
Jones is playing well in Purdy’s absence. Despite not having key position players like George Kittle, Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk on the field together, he has thrown for 905 yards with six touchdowns and only one interception in his three starts.
Most importantly, out of all the quarterbacks to start games this year in the NFL, Jones is the only quarterback who is undefeated when he starts.
The organization should not rush Purdy back to action when he is not completely healthy. It seemed like they rushed him back before his setback against Jacksonville, and the result was a reaggravation of the injury.
At 4-1 and holding first place of the NFC West, the organization has more leeway to be patient with Purdy and let Jones start at quarterback until their franchise quarterback is one hundred percent healthy.
