India has achieved remarkable success in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, with seven universities now among the top 100 in the region. Five IITs—Delhi, Madras, Bombay, Kanpur, and Kharagpur—have earned places within this prestigious group. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi stands out as India’s highest-ranked institution in Asia, securing the 59th spot with an overall score of 78.6. The institute has excelled particularly in research impact and employer reputation, which are key differentiators for IITs in global evaluations. Additionally, IISc Bangalore is recognised as India’s leading science research institution, ranked 64th with an impressive score of 76.5, driven by citations and academic standing.
