Doha, October 21 (QNA) - Qatar Museums’ Tasweer Photography initiative, in collaboration with the Art in Embassies program, has launched an international open call for 'Under One Sky'. This traveling photography exhibition celebrates the unity and shared spirit of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and will open in early 2026 across several Qatari embassies in Washington D.C., Ottawa, and Mexico City, coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2026. The exhibition, part of the Years of Culture program, is a tribute to friendship, capturing the energy, emotional connections, and unforgettable memories of fans from around the globe. Through striking photography and personal stories, the exhibition highlights universal values of joy, kindness, hospitality, and goodwill that brought people together across borders during the historic tournament. In this context, Deputy Director of Special Projects at Years of Culture and the driving force behind Under One Sky Dr. Aisha Abdulla Hamad Al Misnad, said: "This project honours the spirit of fans who made the 2022 World Cup a moment of joy and unity. By sharing these memories, we celebrate Qatar’s legacy as a welcoming host nation and continue promoting cultural dialogue through football." The exhibition is accepting submissions from Oct. 21 - Nov. 30,2025. Participation is open to photographers worldwide, aged 18 and above, at all experience levels. Each participant is required to submit one single image, according to specific artistic requirements. The competition categories vary between photos from inside and outside Qatar. The "Inside Qatar" category focuses on those who experienced the tournament in person, and is divided into three distinct themes: "The Journey," which highlights travel and arrival experiences in Qatar; "The Game," showcasing the excitement, anticipation, and energy within the stadiums; and "After the Game," reflecting the celebrations and shared joy that followed each match. The "From Outside Qatar" category focuses on celebrations and fan traditions worldwide. Under the theme: "The Love of Football," this category highlights global fan culture, from home gatherings to fan zones and street celebrations that celebrated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Submitted works will be evaluated by a panel of expert jurors, and between 50 and 70 photos will be selected for exhibitions held in the three host countries. The top five winners in each category will each receive a cash prize of $500. It's worth noting that Tasweer aims to celebrate and support diverse photographers, providing them with a platform to showcase their work and gain exposure to a global audience. By nurturing emerging talent and established photographers, the festival is gaining increasing recognition as an important center for creativity in the region, encouraging visual storytelling and artistic expression.
