Students of the Civil Engineering department in PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology (PVPSIT), Vijayawada, won the first prize in a national-level ‘Mix Design and Cube Test Competition - Season 3’ held at SRM University, Chennai, on Saturday (November 1). The team of K. Dinesh, M. Govardhan and M. Varaprasad, guided and mentored by the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Jagadish Vengala, secured the first prize of ₹1,00,000 in the event, organised by RDC Concrete and the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Chennai Centre. Their project demonstrated sustainable techniques in concrete mix design, a vital aspect of modern construction, showcasing innovation and technical depth. Out of 484 teams from leading engineering institutions across the country, the PVPSIT team emerged as the national winner, while SRM University, Chennai, secured the second prize of ₹50,000. This is the second time a team from PVPSIT has won this competition. "This accomplishment underscores the talent and technical expertise our students have,” said Dr. Vengala. Principal of PVPSIT K. Sivaji Babu and Secretary of Siddhartha Academy Paladugu Lakshmana Rao congratulated the students.
