Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda Critically Injured In Road Accident In Himachal Pradesh

Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident while traveling to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on Saturday. Police said the singer lost control of his vehicle near Baddi, resulting in critical head and spine injuries.
Jawanda was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Punjab, where he was admitted at 1:45 pm in an “extremely critical” condition, according to a hospital statement. He was immediately assessed by the emergency and neurosurgery teams and placed on advanced life support. The singer is currently on ventilator support and remains under close medical monitoring.
“Available information indicates he suffered severe head and spine injuries and also experienced a cardiac arrest before being transferred to Fortis Hospital, Mohali,” the hospital said.
News of the accident drew widespread concern. Several Punjabi artists, including Kulwinder Billa, Kanwar Grewal, and Gippy Grewal, visited the hospital to check on his condition. An ‘ardas’ (prayer) was performed for his recovery at a gurdwara in his native village Pona in Ludhiana’s Jagraon.
Political leaders have also expressed support. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote on X, “Received news that famous Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda has sustained serious injuries in an accident near Baddi. His condition is critical. I pray to the Almighty for his speedy recovery.”
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring echoed similar sentiments, with Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa and Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal also sending their prayers.
Born in 1992 in Ludhiana, Punjab, Rajvir Jawanda initially planned a career in the police force but shifted to music after completing his education. He debuted with the single Munda Like Me in 2014 and gained recognition with hits like Sardaari, Mera Dil, Rabb Karke, Zor, and Kali Jawande Di.
Jawanda has collaborated with notable artists such as Maninder Buttar for the song Vair and has acted in several Punjabi films. Over the years, he transitioned from folk and devotional music to mainstream Punjabi pop, amassing 2.4 million followers on Instagram.
The singer’s condition remains critical, and medical teams continue to provide intensive care.
