The public will soon have a chance to speak up about housing and affordability at a community town hall hosted by Abbotsford-South Langley MP Sukhman Gill in Aldergrove. On Thursday, Nov. 13, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Gill has invited Conservative shadow minister for housing Scott Aitchison. He will have an open discussion on practical ways to address the region’s housing challenges. The event will be held at Langley Banquet Hall (3227 264 St., Aldergrove) and is open to all community members interested in talking about housing and affordability. Aitchison has experience in both municipal and federal politics. Before being elected to Parliament in 2019, he served as a town councillor, district councillor, and mayor of Huntsville, Ont. In a statement to Black Press Media, Gill’s office said Aitchison is “known for his commitment to fiscal discipline, responsible governance, and excellent service.” The town hall will begin with a 30-minute Q&A session, giving Fraser Valley residents a chance to ask questions. A casual meet-and-greet will follow, offering residents an opportunity to speak directly with both MPs. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP in advance by emailing sukhman.gill@parl.gc.ca to reserve a spot.
