Public Holiday: The month of October is going to be very special for school children. This is because of major festivals like Dussehra and Diwali, which are providing ample holidays this year. The School Education Department has declared a total of 16 days of holidays in October. This will give children a break from their studies and ample opportunity to enjoy the festivals.
According to information, the holidays began on September 29th. The department had already released a holiday calendar (Public Holiday) keeping Dussehra and Diwali in mind.
Public Holiday: Continuous Holidays for Dussehra
Children will receive six consecutive days off for Dussehra. Schools will be closed from September 29th to October 4th. Following this, Sunday, October 5th will be a public holiday. If families wish, they can enjoy the festival with their children for a full seven days.
A festive bonus will be available on Diwali.
Children have also received a significant gift for Diwali. The department has declared a six-day holiday for Diwali, from October 20th to 25th. This is followed by a Sunday holiday on October 26th. This means that children will be able to enjoy themselves for seven consecutive days during Diwali.
Public Holidays: Short holidays will become long holidays
The month of October also offers two occasions where students can enjoy extended holidays by taking a day or two off if they wish. Both Dussehra and Diwali are a continuous series of holidays.
Schools will be closed for a total of 16 days
Additionally, schools will be closed for a total of 16 days this month. This is good news for both children and parents. Parents will be able to prepare for the festivals at home with their children, while children will be able to relax a little from the pressures of studies and celebrate the festivals (public holidays) with traditional customs. Thus, October is going to be a month of fun and festivities for students.
