Protests have erupted in many cities around the world after the militant group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of Sudan massacred hundreds of people in the Darfur region. The RSF has been fighting against government forces and this has led to the killing of thousands of people and the displacement of millions of others. The war in Sudan has been raging since 2023. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on world leaders to act. On Thursday, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on the Sudan crisis. WHO condemns the reported killing of more than 460 patients and their companions, as well as the abduction of six health workers, on 28 October from the Saudi Maternity Hospital in El Fasher, Sudan.
