The build-up to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025 gained an extra dash of sporting spirit on Friday as kabaddi legends Manpreet Singh and Ajay Thakur threw their weight behind Team India. The two Pro Kabaddi League legends, now head coaches of Haryana Steelers and Puneri Paltan respectively, joined fans at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on the sidelines of the ongoing PKL Season 12 fixture to cheer on the Women in Blue as they begin their quest for the maiden ICC title from September 30th.
With the World Cup trophy making a stop at the venue, both, Manpreet and Thakur held up jerseys of India’s star cricketers, Deepti Sharma and Smriti Mandhana, drawing applause from PKL superfans and local supporters.
