Prince William Shares His and Kate Middleton's 'Very Strict' Parenting Rule

Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are doing their best to make sure their children live a relatively normal life amid their royal duties.
During the latest episode of “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy,” premiering on Apple TV+ Oct. 3, the Prince of Wales shared the “very strict” rule he and the former Kate Middleton have for their three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
While exploring the Windsor Castle grounds, Eugene Levy asked what the 43-year-old royal does when he’s home and if that includes sit-down dinners with his three kids.
“Absolutely, yes, definitely,” William said about having dinner as a family. He then elaborated on what goes on at the table.
“So, sit and chat is really important,” the prince said. “None of our children have any phones, which we’re very strict about.”
Surprised by his no-phone rule, Levy asked what interests his kids have if they don’t spend time on a mobile device.
“Louis loves the trampoline, so he’s obsessed by trampolining and actually, Charlotte does a lot as well. As far as I can tell, they just end up jumping up and down the trampoline, beating each other up most of the time,” he shared.
“Apparently, there is an art to it,” he jokingly added.
He also shared that his daughter’s favorite activities include netball and ballet.
“So keeping them busy with sports and just being outdoors is really important. They’re trying to learn musical instruments. I’m not sure how successful we’re being with that,” he continued, before sharing what his eldest son is into these days.
“George loves his football, his hockey,” he shared.
Overall, the prince said that the most important thing in his life is his family and making sure they feel “warmth, that feeling of safety, security, love. That all has to be there.”
