William admitted, “School run most days, I mean, Catherine and I share it, but she probably does the bulk of it.” However, he says he contributes as well, with “play dates, taxi driver, sports days, matches, playing in the garden when I can.” As William prepares for his future role as King of the United Kingdom, his schedule is understandably hectic. He told Huck, “Every family has its own difficulties and its own challenges. I think its very individual.” “It’s moment dependent on how you deal with those problems,” he continued. “We choose to communicate a lot more with our children.” He concluded that tactic has its “good things and its bad things,” and that sometimes you are “oversharing with your children when you shouldn’t. But most of the time, hiding stuff from them doesn’t work.” Prince William mirrors the parenting style of Princess Diana In 2022, PEOPLE Magazine reported that Princess Diana was more of a hands-on parent than previous royal mothers. Typically, the royal family employed nannies to regularly tend to their children, only seeing them briefly throughout the day as they dedicated themselves to their work for the crown. Like Diana, both believe that their children should have real-world experiences, learn the art of responsibility, and understand that their actions should have consequences. In an interview with Eugene Levy for an episode of The Reluctant Traveler, the Prince of Wales admitted that “getting the balance of work and family life right is really important.” Per Business Insider, William said, “For me, the most important thing in my life is family, and everything is about the future and about if you don’t start the children off now with a happy, healthy, stable home, I feel you’re setting them up for a bit of a hard time and a fall.” Prince William has returned home to England after traveling to Rio de Janeiro for the 2025 Earthshot Prize ceremony.
