Prince Harry gets asked about Taylor Swift, Charli XCX feud

Actually not interested. Prince Harry looked like a deer in headlights when he was asked about Taylor Swift and Charli XCX’s rumored feud on Wednesday’s episode of the “Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know” podcast. “This one’s heavy, Harry. What do you think of this Taylor Swift, Charli XCX beef?” Minhaj, 40, asked the Duke of Sussex, 41. “The what? Oh no,” Harry replied. “No, this is serious,” Minhaj said. “Cause was Charli’s diss track even a diss track? I mean, to me, ‘Sympathy is a Knife’ was about something completely different, but then Taylor comes back, and I think escalates it, with the ‘Actually Romantic’ thing.” While Minjah was explaining the backstory of the drama, Harry at one point looked off-camera and raised his eyebrows in confusion. “And I’m kind of thinking to myself, ‘Is this fair?'” Minhaj went on. “Or did Charli draw blood and Taylor had to respond?” The comedian added, “Sometimes I think, where do we go from here, you know?” “Well,” Harry responded before he laughed. Harry’s interview with Minhaj came out one day after the duke’s wife, Meghan Markle, danced to Swift’s song “Opalite” in an Instagram video promoting her lifestyle brand As Ever’s holiday product drop. Last year, Harry’s estranged brother, Prince William, attended Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London with his children Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10. Swift took a photo with the Prince of Wales, his kids and her now-fiancé Travis Kelce backstage at the concert. Fans believe Swift, 35, shaded Charli, 33, on her song “Actually Romantic” from her new album “The Life of a Showgirl.” “I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave,” Swift sang on the single, seemingly referencing how Charli has opened up about her alleged drug use in her music. Fans also noted that the “Apple” singer is friends with Swift’s ex, Matty Healy, and is married Healy’s The 1975 bandmate, George Daniel. Charli — who opened for Swift’s Reputation Tour in 2018 — was also accused of having shaded Swift on her 2024 track “Sympathy Is a Knife” from her album “Brat.” Neither Swift nor Charli have publicly commented on their alleged feud. In the “Track by Track Version” of “The Life of a Showgirl” for Amazon Music, Swift opened up about the inspiration behind “Actually Romantic.” “‘Actually Romantic’ is a song about realizing that someone else has kind of had a one-sided adversarial relationship with you that you didn’t know about,” the 14-time Grammy winner shared. “And all of a sudden they start doing too much, and they start letting you know that, actually, you’ve been living in their head rent free and you had no idea.” “It’s presenting itself as them sort of resenting or having a problem with you, but taking that and you just accepting that as love,” continued Swift, “and you just accepting it as attention and affection. How flattering that someone has made you such a big part of their reality and you didn’t even think about this. It’s actually pretty romantic if you really, really think about it.”
