View directly on Instagram However, Harry’s spokesperson told Newsweek that Harry’s visit was “nearly a year in the planning and the dates of the main event are set by the military charity True Patriot Love, who hold their annual national tribute dinner every year at the same time to coincide with the period of remembrance.” Prince William’s reps have not commented on the scheduling snafu. Because Prince Harry formally stepped back from his role as a senior working member of the royal family five years ago, he is no longer bound by the same protocols that apply to active royals. Being non‑working allows him to participate in activities and events that don’t require the same level of official scheduling as those for full‑time royals.
