Prince Harry 'worried Meghan Markle is turning into Sarah Ferguson after controversial move'

Prince Harry is concerned about the optics of some of wife Meghan Markle 's recent social media posts - and worries she is starting to look a bit 'Fergie-esque', according to a new report. Since quitting royal life back in 2010, Meghan has focused heavily on her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and frequently uses her Instagram page to promote her business. Just recently, the Duchess shared a clip showing her sitting at her desk, next to one of her new $64 candles and a blue notebook. Watchers were quick to note that her royal cypher - the letter M with a crown on top - was clearly visible in gold on the cover. The cypher was first shared before Meghan married Harry in 2018. She has also been using images of Harry and the children - with their faces in increasing clarity - on social media, a practice it's said that Harry 'doesn't love'. Another bone of contention, according to Page Six , is Meghan linking her latest candle to their wedding. Signature Candle No. 519 is a nod to their wedding date, May 19, 2018. One person complained on Twitter : "Another example of Meghan putting her royal cypher on pretty much anything, you can see it on her notebook in the latest Instagram story." Another added: "I rather think that was the point. Pretty difficult to sell a candle for that price if it's not royal." And a third responded: "It's pathetic at this point. If you must remind everyone you're connected to royalty, you're not royal at all." The controversy hasn't gone unnoticed by Harry, the report claims. An insider told the publication that source says that the Duke "is aware" that things like that are "not a great look and -Fergie-esque", in reference to Sarah Ferguson , the ex-wife of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor , who has a reputation for trading on her formerly royal husband - from her 'cash for access' scandal in 2010, through to her commercial endorsements (including Weight Watchers and Royal Doulton). "He's used to being universally loved," the source added. "Now it's the exact opposite: actively booed" referring to the crowd reaction when the couple were shown on the Jumbotron at a recent Dodgers game. A spokesperson for the couple has refused to comment. Behavioural expert Judi James has another take on it, and believes that Meghan's approach to sharing must have been agreed between the pair. "The balance between sharing glimpses a celeb's private life and invading their own privacy must hopefully be one that Harry and Meghan have taken on with a seriously like-minded approach, although Meghan does tend to be shown as the keener and more comfortable performer during their more recent 'private' clips," she says. "Her podcasts and her Netflix series have created a manageable blend of reality and performative with apparent 'rules' like not filming in their own house. But as the social media posts continue and even increase its impossible to imagine there won't be an agreed and like-minded approach to avoid them ever feeling like an intrusion. Harry, to be fair, has previously looked very keen to embrace the camera himself since his time in the US. His performances on chat shows and the James Corden show have suggested his own 'inner performer' can happily burst out at any moment, so although he has been viewed as desiring privacy for his family he can also seem perfectly happy showboating for the camera in his own way." Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan will no doubt be keen to disassociate themselves from Fergie and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The exes are now living in disgrace as a result of their associations with convicted paedophile Jeffery Epstein, with Andrew losing his royal titles and the home the former couple shared, Royal Lodge. According to Jennie Bond, it’s likely that Harry and Meghan would have been following the details of Andrew and Sarah's very public downfall from California, and would likely be relieved that they are not the only royals facing negative attention. Since 2020, the Sussexes have proven to be some of the most unpopular royals in recent memory - but it's nothing compared to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Jennie told the Mirror : "I imagine Harry and Meghan will feel some relief that the heat is off them for the time being. I don't suppose the question of who does or doesn't live in their old house is uppermost in their minds. I think, like the King and Queen, their thoughts will focus primarily on the victims of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse. "I'm sure they will have taken a keen interest in all that has happened over the past couple of weeks. And I don't think they will have shed any tears over Andrew's dramatic fall into utter disgrace." While Jennie admitted that Harry and Meghan are likely simply spectators to the saga, the Duke is more invested given his close relationships with his cousins, Beatrice and Eugenie. Jennie said: "Harry is, however, close to his cousins - particularly Eugenie - and I'm sure he feels great sympathy for them. Emotions must be so raw at the moment that I don't know whether he would feel that now is the time to offer support. But, if needed, I think Harry would be there for them… at least on the end of the phone."
