Prince Andrew has d itched the personalised Duke of York number plates that once adorned his luxury vehicles. The beleaguered Royal, aged 65, has opted not to transfer the registration plates AY02 DOY and AY03 DOY to his new £115,000 Range Rover. According to records from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), these plates are no longer associated with any vehicle. This development follows hot on the heels of Andrew's decision to relinquish his Duke of York title after emails surfaced suggesting he had lied about severing ties with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein . His reputation took another hit when Virginia Giuffre, a sex abuse accuser, levelled damning allegations against him in her explosive posthumous memoir. The prince has consistently refuted all accusations of misconduct. Today, The Mirror can disclose that the number plate AY02 DOY, which was previously seen on his two dark green Range Rovers, is no longer active, as per DVLA records. He sold one of his Range Rovers for £50,000 last November, having clocked up just 11,000 miles over three years, reports the Mirror . Subsequently, he purchased a new automatic Range Rover for £115,000 and chose to fit it with a new number plate – KN74 EFK – rather than his Duke of York one. His green £220,000 Bentley, which he drove to Princess Beatrice's daughter Sienna's christening in 2022, also sported the personalised number plate AY03 DOY. But that too "can no longer be found" on DVLA records and has not been registered on any car. The registration plate shambles may compel the disgraced Prince to abandon other DOY titles he has embraced across his estate. This could encompass using the designation on directives to Royal staff who are commanded to arrange his cherished collection of bears and soft toys in a particular manner on his bed. It's alleged personnel sketched out precisely how they should be positioned to prevent the Duke having "tantrums" at bedtime. And laminated instructions - headed "DOY bed: Points for turn down and making the bed" - were stored near the Duke's Buckingham Palace bedroom. Staff penned: "When the DOY is staying overnight, place one small teddy and cushion in the turn down. When making the bed, place the teddy and cushion next to the teddy on the left- hand side with the necklaces on." Andrew declared last Friday he was voluntarily surrendering his titles and relinquishing membership of the Order of the Garter - the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain.
