Looking for a fun watch to finish your weekend strong (and stave off those early week blues)? Summer may be over, but Prime Video is only heating up with great new movies to curl up on the couch to this weekend. The streaming service’s Top 10 most-watched movies list is a solid place to start to cut through the noise quickly — but making the cut doesn’t guarantee a movie’s worth your time.
As someone who tracks these streaming rankings every weekend, I’ve seen more than a few overhyped duds sneak into the top spots. So to save you from wasting your next movie night, I’m highlighting the standout picks from Prime Video’s current Top 10 list. This week, that includes one of this year’s most intense thrillers, a romantic drama that’ll have you wishing summer (and young love) lasted forever, and a blockbuster musical packed with earworms I still have stuck in my head.
So without further ado, let’s dive into the best movies in Prime Video’s top 10 that are worth adding to your watchlist. ‘A Working Man’ (2025)

It’s no shock to see “A Working Man” still holding strong in the No. 1 spot for the second weekend in a row. The action-thriller reunites Jason Statham and director David Ayer, the duo behind last year’s streaming hit “The Beekeeper,” for some more hard-hitting thrills to get your blood pumping.
Statham sticks to his strengths as Levon Cade, a former Royal Marine turned construction worker now trying to live a quiet life and focus on raising his daughter. But naturally, he just can’t seem to leave his violent past behind. When his boss’s daughter is abducted by human traffickers, Levon is pulled back into a ruthless underworld once more to save her. His rescue mission quickly spirals into a high-stakes battle with a far-reaching criminal network — and you know he ain’t backing down from a fight.

All the grown-up theater kids out there must be counting down the days until “Wicked: For Good” hits theaters in just a few weeks (no shame — I’m one too) because “Wicked” is back in Prime Video’s top 10 this weekend. If you somehow missed Jon Chu’s blockbuster the first time around, it’s everything a movie musical adaptation should be. Even if you’re not a theater fan, there’s still plenty to enjoy, from dazzling, larger-than-life sets that you can’t help but get lost in to stunning performances from dual leads Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo that tug at your heartstrings.
It follows Elphaba (Erivo), a misunderstood outcast with green skin and extraordinary magical abilities, who clashes with the effortlessly bubbly and popular Glinda (Grande) while studying at Shiz University. Though their personalities and styles are polar opposites, that initial frostiness thaws into a lasting friendship. All the while, something bad is happening in Oz as the Wizard and his sentries crack down on its most vulnerable citizens. When Glinda and Elphaba set out to meet the Wizard in Emerald City, it reshapes not only their destinies, but the future of Oz itself.

‘The Map That Leads to You’ (2025)

As much as I love “Wicked,” not everyone can commit to a nearly three-hour movie. If you had a breezier watch in mind, check out “The Map That Leads to You” for one last sun-soaked summer escape before the chill sets in. It’s a solid, if predictable, romantic drama that checks all the right boxes.
Madelyn Cline stars as Heather Mulgrew, a recent college grad who heads to Europe for one last adventure before her first “big girl” job kicks off in New York. Except this woman has never known the world “chill,” and she’s meticulously mapped out every leg of the journey beforehand. However, her well-ordered itinerary starts to fall apart when she meets Jack (KJ Apa), a free-spirited traveler retracing his late grandfather’s steps. As Heather and her friends join Jack through Spain, Portugal, and Italy, sparks fly between them. But as they get closer, unexpected truths and difficult decisions begin to challenge everything Heather thought she wanted.
