    Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of his business program in New York, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with Robert Lowenthal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oppenheimer Holdings.

    Oppenheimer is an independent American investment bank providing a wide range of services in investment banking, financial advisory, asset management, and capital markets worldwide. During the meeting, the company’s contribution to the development of the private sector and the issuance of Eurobonds in Uzbekistan was highlighted, and support was expressed for plans to expand private business financing programs.

    Earlier, a delegation from the Andijan region, led by Hokim Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov, signed an investment agreement in New York with Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. worth US$300 million, marking an important step in attracting foreign investment to the region.
