PRESIDENT Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has concluded her first participation in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York, where she outlined Namibia’s vision for peace, sustainable development, and stronger international cooperation.
Throughout the week, President Nandi-Ndaitwah held engagements with world leaders, international organisations, and business executives. These discussions underscored Namibia’s commitment to multilateralism and to addressing pressing global challenges, including climate change, food security, health, and inclusive economic growth.

She also used the platform to promote Namibia’s investment opportunities in renewable energy, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and green hydrogen, presenting the country as a reliable partner for cooperation and business.
In addition, the President met with members of the Namibian diaspora in the United States, where she encouraged them to actively contribute to national development through innovation, investment, and community-driven initiatives.
Reflecting on the visit, President Nandi-Ndaitwah reiterated Namibia’s commitment to unity, diplomacy, and shared responsibility in building a fairer and more peaceful world.
The Namibian government expressed its appreciation to the United Nations, partner countries, and stakeholders for their support and cooperation during the high-level week.
