At the conclusion of his working visit to the United States, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with members of the Uzbek community living and working in the country, as well as fellows of the “El-Yurt Umidi” foundation studying at leading American universities.
The meeting took place in a friendly and informal atmosphere, during which participants discussed the ongoing reforms in New Uzbekistan and the vital role of the diaspora in promoting these initiatives abroad.
During the event, the “International Business Marathon of Compatriots” was launched. The platform is designed to foster dialogue and facilitate business contacts among young professionals, with guidance from successful entrepreneurs within the Uzbek diaspora.
Participants shared proposals to further strengthen trade, economic, investment, scientific, and educational ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. They also discussed implementing advanced American technologies in key sectors, promoting innovations in medicine, transport, and logistics, and developing marketplaces in Uzbekistan.
President Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to the compatriots for their contributions to the country’s development. He emphasized that all proposals and initiatives raised during the meeting would be carefully reviewed by relevant ministries and agencies, with the most promising set for practical implementation.
Special attention was given to “El-Yurt Umidi” scholarship holders, whose number in the United States now exceeds 500. The president highlighted the importance of supporting talented youth and creating opportunities for them to apply their knowledge and experience in Uzbekistan. He wished the students success in their studies and future professional endeavors, noting that the state remains open to youth initiatives and ready to provide full support.
In response, participants thanked President Mirziyoyev for his attention to the diaspora and young generation, acknowledged the opportunities provided to unlock youth potential, and reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to the prosperity of their homeland.
