Predator: Badlands hit theaters this week, bringing fans the next entry in the long-running sci-fi action series. Unlike many of the previous films that portray the intergalactic hunters as villains, Badlands focuses on the Predator (aka Yautja) homeworld and culture for the first time, following a young member of the Yautja clan (played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) on his first hunt. Early reviews are positive, and it sounds like it will be a great entry point for new fans--however, if the pre-release buzz has you interested in checking out the previous Predator films before seeing Badlands, you're in luck. The Predator Four-Film Blu-ray Collection is on sale for $30 (was $40) at Amazon for a limited time. The original Predator film is likely the one most people are familiar with. It starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Jessie Ventura, and Shane Black as members of an elite special forces team who encounter the Predator during a covert black ops mission in South America. It was followed up by Predator 2, which stars Danny Glover, and sees a new Predator take on cops and criminals during a record-breaking heatwave in LA. 20 years later, the series finally resumed with Predators in 2010. The film features an ensemble cast of soldiers and gangsters stranded on an alien planet that the Predators use for hunts. The series took another gap until The Predator in 2018. Written by Shane Black--the same Shane Black who appeared in the original film--The Predator brings the action back to Earth, pitting the alien huntsman against U.S. soldiers in a suburban neighborhood. While the Predator Four-Film Collection will get you most of the Predator series in a single package, it's not the full saga. Most notably, the fifth mainline entry in the series, Prey, is not part of the box set. Luckily, you can pick it up in 4K UHD and standard Blu-ray editions. Widely considered one of the best films in the series, Prey is set in 1719, and it follows Naru (Amber Midthunder), a young Comanche woman living in 1719 North America, who must face down The Predator to save her tribe. The Prey Blu-ray release includes a short making-of featurette, a panel recap with the cast and crew, deleted scenes, and an audio commentary track with director Dan Trachtenberg, Amber Midthunder, Jeff Cutter, and Angela M. Catanzaro. Of course, we also need to mention the Predator's long-running rivalry with those other notorious Silver Screen extraterrestrials: the Xenomorphs from Alien. The crossover first began with a line of comics, which, unfortunately, are now difficult to find, except for expensive third-party listings online. However, the Alien vs. Predator series has also seen numerous entries in other media, including films and comics. So far, two Alien vs. Predator films have been made — 2004's Alien vs. Predator, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, and Aliens Vs. Predator: requiem in 2007. While neither film is necessarily canonical with either the Alien or Predator series--and are generally considered middling at best--Predator: Badlands prominently features androids from the Alien series' Weyland-Yutani company, implying these deadly lifeforms could be fated to clash again soon. If you're interested in checking them out, you can grab both films with the Aliens vs. Predator Two-Pack: Unrated Edition at Amazon. The first movie is also available in a standalone Blu-ray for $18.20 (was $22). Check out all the Predator Blu-rays currently available in the list below. Unfortunately, the first volume is currently sold out at Amazon, but you can pick up Volume 2 for $62.19 (was $125). The run follows a young Predator sent to Earth as he survives in some of our planet's most hostile locations, including the Australian Outback, Mount Everest, and more. Preorders for the trade paperback edition are available for $30 at Amazon. The Yautja clan has also clashed with numerous comic book heroes, including Archie, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and more. Many of these crossovers are available now in trade paperback editions at Amazon. Meanwhile, the new Predator Kills the Marvel Universe trade paperback is launching on April 28, 2026, which includes the full five-issue mini-series wherein the Predator hunts down various heroes of the Marvel universe--including the X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
