Tottenham have released a statement confirming that Destiny Udogie was the Premier League footballer allegedly threatened with a gun by a football agent . The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation and the agent in question, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested two days after the incident. And Tottenham have now confirmed that Udogie, 22, was at the centre of the incident, which sources described as terrifying, in a statement. A spokesperson for the club said: "We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so. Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment any further." A source at the time told The Sun : “This was a terrifying incident and one which has sent shockwaves through the business side of football. “The player was understandably shaken up - to have threats made against you with a gun is shocking. He reported it right away. It was the right thing to do for his safety. “He has been supported by his friends and club and they all hope it will not impact his performances. “But there will be serious questions about why this happened, which the police are now trying to answer.” Udogie, who is an Italy international, arrived at Spurs in August 2022 after they agreed to pay Serie A side Udinese an initial £15million plus performance-related add-ons. He has gone on to make 75 appearances. And Udogie started Tuesday's Champions League clash with Danish giants Copenhagen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - which they ran out 4-0 winners. Udogie played 73 minutes, before he was substituted by manager Thomas Frank.
