Premier League clubs trying to poach forgotten Arsenal standout

Arsenal are more likely to be buyers than sellers in the transfer market, because even though they are the best team in the Premier League right now, one more move for a world-class left winger could vault them into Champions League favorites with how underwhelming everyone else in Europe looks. Armed with a world-class defense, an improved midfield with Martin Zubimendi partnering Declan Rice, and an actual No. 9 in Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal are a whole lot stronger this season. And with dreams of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior or Rodrygo Goes to pair with Bukayo Saka, Arsenal could only get even stronger if things shake out a certain way. But big clubs around Europe are looking to sign away the young Arsenal stars for themselves – and it’s not just the big names like William Saliba who are generating interest either. According to a report from Sky Sports, Premier League clubs are circling looking to try to sign left back Myles Lewis-Skelly, who is 19 years old and was a big time player for the Gunners in 2024/25 at points on the road to their Champions League semifinal appearance. The controversy and transfer interest comes because England national team manager Thomas Tuchel has rather unfairly told Lewis-Skelly that he isn’t playing enough to be in consideration for the Three Lions. Lewis-Skelly has not started once for Arsenal this season, as the Gunners have a top-class player in his position in Riccardo Calafiori. But he has made seven substitute appearances and has been excellent in the other competitions when he starts. Arsenal, per Sky Sports News, wisely have no interest in selling Lewis-Skelly at this time.
