It’s matchday five of the 2025-26 Premier League season – and Daily Mail’s new game is back for another week.

The Premier League weekend kicks off with a Merseyside derby at Anfield as Liverpool host Everton before a 3pm clash featuring Tottenham away at Brighton. Late on Saturday night Manchester United, who are under enormous pressure following their Manchester Derby defeat to Man City, host Chelsea at Old Trafford, while there is a a three-game Sunday slate.

Newcastle United make the long trip to Bournemouth, while Aston Villa, who are yet to score a Premier League goal and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, travel north to take on Sunderland. Meanwhile, the game of the weekend comes in North London as title challengers Arsenal and Manchester City locks horns at 4.30pm as part of Sunday’s triple header.

‘Everton look much improved ever since their debacle of a display away at Leeds United in the season opener but I am not betting against Liverpool at Anfield.

‘Eight goals at Anfield across three games in all competitions this season tells me that now that Alexander Isak has been integrated and Hugo Ekitike continues to look a threat, goals won’t be a problem in such a high stakes game.

‘I am much more conflicted about Tottenham Hotspur’s trip down to Brighton.

‘Brighton are no pushover defensively like West Ham proved to be a week ago and the Seagulls have looked much more solid at home, drawing against Fulham and defeating Manchester City.

‘I’m going to go for a share of the spoils there with a score draw as Thomas Frank’s side will taper back slightly after midweek Champions League action.

‘Predicting a Manchester United fixture this season seems a pretty thankless task and that same feeling applies with this weekend’s Saturday blockbuster at home against Chelsea.

‘Enzo Maresca’s Blues shot themselves in the foot with individual mistakes in Munich in midweek and I don’t see them shutting out this muddled United side for 90 minutes. Draw for me at Old Trafford.

‘Meanwhile in the Sunday slate I’m going for Bournemouth to beat a Newcastle United side coming off the back of their clash with Barcelona, Sunderland to add salt to Aston Villa’s wounds and Manchester City to put another dent in Arsenal’s title challenge with an away win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.’
