Mum Jordana Johnson, 36, and her son Jordan Norris, 13, and his friend Chazz Mather, 12, were killed in the blaze that tore through a two-storey home in Toolooa on October 15. On Saturday, mourners gathered at Barney Point Beach to farewell Ms Johnson and the two boys. Mourners placed flowers onto the beach and into the water and held each other as they remembered the three victims. The memorial included a smoking ceremony and traditional dancing. A powerful Haka was performed for Chazz, who was a member of the town’s Maori community. Gladstone MP Glenn Butcher called the memorial “a beautiful community gathering in honour of Jordana, Jordan and Chazz”. “Their light and love will always be remembered,” he said on social media. Emergency services were called to the blaze about 6am that day. A Queensland Fire Department spokesman told NewsWire six fire crews were called in to battle the blaze, and that the home was “well-involved in flame” when firefighters reached the scene. “(There was) structural collapse as well,” he said. “The fire was quite significant. Crews couldn’t get in to do their primary search until it was under control.” Firefighters brought the blaze under control about 8am. The police have charged Gladstone woman Contessa Leigh Marie Richardson, 37, with three counts of murder and arson for the horror blaze. She appeared in court for a bedside hearing on Friday, where she was refused bail.
