A strong 7.8 magnitude earthquake rattled the eastern coast of Russia near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on September 18, 2025. According to preliminary information from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the quake hits at 11:58 PM PDT, with its epicenter nearly 128 kilometers (around 80 miles) east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at an intensity of 10 km. The real coordinates were recorded at 53.168°N, 160.532°E.
