Poundland makes major money-saving change in price crackdown

Poundland is returning to its classic roots in a major move which will see more products priced for £1. As part of a price crackdown, the chain has recently announced £1, £2 and £3 price tags on items across all of its UK stores. News of the nationwide initiative comes after it was originally trialled at 17 Poundland stores across the Midlands, with bosses stating the price changes were made to focus on what customers really looked for when shopping. This is a huge change from previous product costs as the number of grocery items now sold for £1 has increased to 60 per cent. Lower prices were also applied to snacking, drinks, pet food and household earlier this year, the Sun reported. However, it should be noted the bargain Poundland clothing does not form part of this offer, but the publication understood a similar strategy could be rolled out in regards to the clothes department next year.
