The marina’s latest milestone is the full conversion of its internal shuttle catamaran into an electric, zero-emission vessel – a major step towards meeting decarbonisation targets in marine operations. This initiative complements a series of sustainable actions already underway at Port Adriano, including the installation of marine-regenerating Ecostructures, the acquisition of electric vehicles for its internal fleet, and the setup of electric charging stations for boats. From diesel to zero emissions The new Port Adriano E-Shuttle began life as an 8-metre aluminium catamaran-platform, originally powered by two diesel engines. Today, those engines have been replaced with two modern electric motors powered entirely by solar panels, transforming the vessel into a completely emission-free mode of transport. The electric conversion not only eliminates air and noise pollution but also significantly reduces operational costs and maintenance needs – benefits that make the vessel both environmentally and economically sustainable. Designed to transport users between the inner and outer harbours of Port Adriano, the E-Shuttle plays a vital role in improving the flow of people throughout the marina’s facilities.
