Popular suburban Cork bar and restaurant Route Fourteen calls time

It changed ownership and was since further revamped in the post-covid era, becoming Route Fourteen in 2021 and with the trade’s focus further pushing into food hospitality.

Developers made an offer to the owners of the bar, and the decision was made to cease trading this month. The owners of the bar also operate Titanic Bar & Grill in Cobh, and Copper Grove in Bandon, two popular bistro style premises.

“Titanic Bar & Grill, Cobh and Copper Grove, Bandon are unaffected by the sale of Route Fourteen and its business as usual in those two premises,” owner Alan Murphy told the Irish Examiner.

Gift vouchers which were purchased for Route Fourteen are being honoured at both Titanic Bar & Grill and at Copper Grove.

Titanic Bar & Grill is based in the historic former White Star building at Casement Square in Cobh and has become a town favourite since opening 13 years ago. Copper Grove in Kilbrogan Hill has been operating successfully for the past 10 years.
