Popular Taco JED Is Closing in Rochester, Minnesota
Shocked is a word that I’m guessing many of us are feeling right now. News appeared on Wednesday, September 24th, that Taco JED was closing in the Med City. I first saw this from Jeff Kiger at the Post Bulletin, and when I read the words, I was seriously in disbelief.
Taco JED is one of my first radio memories. This restaurant opened in 2018, shortly after I started on-air at Y-105FM, and the owner dropped off food for us to try. It was such a nice thing to do and for this radio newbie, a nice gesture. Taco JED is more than just great tacos though. I’ve since had several opportunities to see the kindness and generosity from the owner at Taco JED and I appreciate the culture he has created in Rochester.
The corner restaurant at 808 Broadway Ave. S. has been home to live music and tacos thanks to Taco JED. After the Rochester Area Family YMCA announced it was closing, Taco JED became the space for the church that used to call the Y home.

When Is Taco JED Closing in Rochester, Minnesota?
According to the story in the Post Bulletin, Taco JED’s final day will be on October 18th.
You may have noticed on Taco JED’s Facebook page that they are hosting a party for their 7th anniversary. That is still on the schedule for October 4th.
While the doors may be closing on the restaurant, there is a possibility that the Taco JED food truck stays open. If I hear any updates on that, I’ll let you know on our free app.

According to the article, some health concerns have arisen for the owners’ parents who live in Bemidji, and it is time to be there to help them out.
